The Colour Code project represents a number of works completed over the past decade - the most recent Taste | 100 Paintings of 20th Century Décor. All of these works use colour in direct reference to objects or materials and document the changes in taste or fashion.

Taste

< Taste | 100 paintings of the 20th Century, like the 1995 work Currencies, takes as its subject the commodification of colour. Each of the 10 groups of 10 elliptical disks represent colour use in a decade of the 20th century with each disk representing the colour of a specific domestic object. This includes a colour reference to, for instance, an apricot plastic bowl made from the 50s and jade paint finishes from the 30s.
