Based on early Renaissance paintings, these works are life sized three-dimensional structures based on the architecture found in these paintings. By removing the figures from the structures I drew attention to the space itself and encouraged a contemporary viewer to supply his or her own scenario. The role of the setting became implicit rather than explicit. The settings are either interiors or points between interiors and exteriors that suggest transition.
